Anim Wines is in Southern Tasmania making wines from old local vineyards that struggle in the wild conditions. Winemaker Max Marriott spent formative time in Burgundy which has driven him like a mad man to make 6 single vineyards from tiny plots. Crazy stuff.

This year only one barrel of wine could be made from the Tinderbox vineyards after animal and bird raids at harvest time. That's just 75 x 6 packs and we have the last 10!

"Colour is quite light, bright crimson. Aromas are dark and brooding (befitting a vineyard above Storm Bay)....gamey, sour cherry and red fruits. The palate is balanced concentrated and focussed. Lovely clean fruit centre with a long dry finish. This is a meaningful pinot that would stand up to a steak." 94/100
