 Guasti's vineyards are located around the town of Nizza Monferrato in Piemonte, which is widely recognised as THE place to grow Barbera in Piemonte. Enrico's nonno, Clemente, was the king of Barbera and bought up sites all round the town to find the best expression of the grape.

I had not really invested much thought in their rosé offering before but under Enrico's stewardship there is distinct new freshness to the wines that I find super attractive. Wine made from 100% Barbera grapes.

My tasting note from the day says it all :-

"First press selected grapes, really pretty aromas - pot pourri, rose and good fruit core with sparkling acidity. A cracking rosé" 94/100 (Cracking was underlined 3 times!)
