Cerasaulo is the Rosé style specific to Abruzzo. It's traditional colour is a darker shade of pink/red which confounds the "only pale salmon" French rosé aficionado's. Let's set the record straight. Contrary to popular belief, the colour of a rosé does not tell you ANYTHING about how sweet the wine is. It is just a sign that the wine as spent a little more time on its skins, which is where all the colour is derived from. Ironically the extra skin contact may give it a bit more tannin which presents as drying on the palate.

Anyway enough of the techo stuff. People who are brave enough (!!) to try a slightly darker Rosé, love this wine. Many people saying it is their favourite. Great with antipasti, pizza or pasta with a light tomato sauce.
