The most important wine at Capannelle is the 50&50, a famous and well celebrated specimen. But if I am forced to choose I think that I would nominate Solaré as my favourite from the Capannelle portfolio. A blend of 80% Sangiovese and (unusually) 20% Malvasia Nera, it is more traditionally Italian. Earthy, restrained and dry it has a touch of austereness that gives it that food friendly quality. High quality stuff.
