"If this is not Amarone, then it is a lying wine". So exclaimed an experienced sommelier upon tasting the first Buglioni Ripasso in 2000. From that moment there could only be one name for this wine il Bugiardo - The Liar! Interestingly Ripasso is so named as the skins of the Amarone are "re-passed" in a second fermentation. This gives the Ripasso more depth and concentration. 

Aged in large format oak for 12 months and then in bottle for a further 6 months.

"Dark ruby red colour, aromas of ripe red fruits, spices and hints of vanilla and tobacco. Beautiful structure, very long savoury finish with everything in balance. Is still a baby and has the muscularity of youth. Beautiful with char grilled beef"
